About
I am a 32 year veteran of Emergency Services. During that time, I have actively performed in volunteer organizations, corporate EMS, and a career fire department. As a recent retiree with 27 + years in the Federal fire service, I have gained a considerable amount of knowledge and experience from firefighter through Battalion Chief. During my tenure, I spent 21 years in with the IAFF where 13 years were spent in an Executive role.
To compliment my experience with emergency services, I pursued a passion in occupational safety & health. in 1999, I engaged in my first class through Niagara County Community College in Buffalo New York and than continued on to Rutgers University, NJ. I utilized my knowledge and experience where I developed programs and policies to increase firefighter safety and engaged them into training & daily operations.
In 2013, I accepted my next challenge as a course developer with the University of Texas at Arlington. During this time I worked with a team of experts to pioneer a new path to meet the needs of the NFPA 1500, OSHA, and the development of a "Analytical" tool to capture and report the health & well being of a fire department. This achievement is now actively employed in fire departments around the globe.
September 2018 began the latest journey with the formation of Battalion 1 Consultants LLC. Our mission is clear, to deliver "Excellence through Training & Education". Our team of professionals focus on the needs of our customers and clients and we treat them like family. We approach each course and consultation with passion and work hard to build relationships with everyone involved.
Our approach is proven.
